What does an AI consultancy do?

An AI consultancy helps an organisation decide where AI should be used, put the controls in place to use it safely, and implement it. At Rhentech that covers AI usage audits, governance and policy, AI agents, and private or cloud AI infrastructure, with ongoing management if you want it.

Where should we start?

Most firms start with an AI usage audit, to see what is already happening, or with a half-day or one-day executive briefing, to agree a position. Both lead naturally into a policy and a first implementation project.

Why is AI governance urgent for UK firms?

Because adoption is ahead of control. The Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025/2026 (DSIT, April 2026) found that 31% of UK businesses were using, adopting or considering AI, and only 24% of those had cyber security practices to manage AI risk. Clients, insurers and regulators are starting to ask for evidence.

Does the EU AI Act matter to a London firm?

It can, where your AI systems or their output reach the EU. Article 50 transparency duties applied from 2 August 2026, and the AI Omnibus (Regulation (EU) 2026/1744) moved stand-alone high-risk obligations to 2 December 2027. An AI usage audit shows whether any of your uses are in scope.

How are AI engagements structured and priced?

Entry is a half-day or one-day executive briefing or policy workshop. Implementation runs as projects with milestones, and governance, monitoring and optimisation as a monthly retainer that can be combined with Rhentech managed IT. Fees are agreed in writing before work starts.

Can you keep our data out of public AI services?

Yes. We can deploy models inside your own cloud tenant or on hardware you control, so prompts and documents never reach a public AI provider. We recommend this where the sensitivity of the data justifies it, and say so when a cloud service is the better choice.
